Introduction
For an assignment, we were given the task to study two companies, one big and one small. We had to research the companies history and their productions, for example for an upcoming small company, A24. We had to analyze the companies marketing plans and the impact of changing technology. This assignment was a bit hard to understand but I'm gonna try my best.
Small company: A24
History: A24 was based is Manhattan and was founded by Daniel Katz, David Fenkel, and John Hodges. It was founded in August 20th of 2012, and the name was also named after the Italian A24 motorway. It began to rise in reputation from its newly released movies of its time like The Bling Ring (2013) and Spring Breakers (2013).
Production by A24: Over the years, A24 released movies like -
Ex Machina (2014), Amy (2015), The Green Knight (2021), Pricilla (2023)
Marketing and Distribution practices: A24 creates a small amount of projects to spend more time on each one, ensuring quality over quantity which strengthens their fan's loyalty to build a more loyal fanbase. They also create pop-ups in certain areas, the shops including merchandise like figures, shirts, or things that inlude the brands name or the movie that the pop-up is themed by. They also build a strong online presence by using social media to reach more audiences.
Impacts of changing technology and convergence/diversification: A24 different audiences by releasing movies like Problemista, a Comedy, to a Thriller/Drama like A Different Man. The diversification of the movies allow A24 to reach bigger audiences.

Distribution - First distributed by A24 in the united states and then internationally by different companies like Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures.
Marketing - Screening of the film at the SXSW Film Festival.

Ownership - A24
Production - Greta Gerwig and A24 were the directors.
Distribution - Distributed by A24 in the United States and by Focus Features internationally.
Marketing - They marketed Lady Bird through social media engagement and through interviews.

Big company: Marvel Studios
History: Marvel studios first began in 1996, becoming a global powerhouse after Disney acquired the studio in 2009, now becoming a Disney owned company. The company "Marvel Studios" was originally founded by Marvel Entertainment Group, on December 7 1993, New York, Manhattan. The company was first owned by Avi Arad in May 13, 1993, as Chairman. Their first ever movie being Iron Man (2008). Which also grew popular by its first release, even surpassing Star Wars.
Production: Over the years, Marvel has released movies like - X-men (2000), X-men Origins (2009), Doctor Strange (2016), Deadpool (2016), and Deadpool 2 (2018).
Marketing and Distribution Process: Marvel uses marketing like streaming services including Disney+ where all their movies are, reaching a wider audience by doing so. They also sell merchandice themed with their super hero characters and comic books, reaching their fans and building their loyalty. Marvel also uses their social media platforms to interact with their fans, broadcasting different upcoming news with their interviews. They also distribute DVD's so fans or new time watchers can buy and watch their movies.
Impacts of changing technology and convergence/diversification: During the years, Marvels technology plays a very big role in the making of the movies, one of the most important things that fans look for in Marvel movies are their quality. They use high quality cameras to shoot their movies, making sure their movies are top quality. Marvel is also Diverse with their marketing, producing action filled movies to action filled games, partnering up with companies like Netease. Their games being able to be accessed by consoles like Playstation and Xbox, games like Marvel Rivals, Spiderman 1, and Spiderman 2. Different platforms, and new movies are what make Marvel so popular, and what makes them reach further audiences around the globe.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Ownership - Was owned and produced by Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment.
Production - The movie was shot in Australia, New Zealand.
Distribution - Distributed by Twentieth Century Fox in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
Marketing - It had it's own video game and a few small advertisements.
Exchange - Their were none.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness (MoM)
Ownership - It is owned by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
Production - First began filming in London, November 2020, but had to be paused because of covid, but then resumed in March 2021 and ended in mid-April in Surrey and Los Angeles.
Distribution - Distributed by Walt Disney Studios motion pictures.
Marketing - They marketed MoM by airing teasers in events like the Super Bowl. Even producing Funko pops of the characters in the movie.
Exchange - Their were none.
