Magazine Genre Research

In class today, we talked about different genres and topics of magazines. We were all assigned to pick 4 genres, and I picked Science & Technology, Food & Beverage, Photography & Art, and Nature. My name is Ruzgar Saylam, and here are my four examples.

Science and Technology

Science is one of the key things that identify where we come from and who we (the people) are. With science, we can identify ourselves and different organisms with DNA. We can also discover the different substances and natural properties of the world with science!

For this example I chose this magazine because, it identifies all the basic necessities of a science and technology magazine with all the descriptions that are provided on the sides such as the latest models of 3D printers and the newest climate changes. 

Food and Beverage

Food is a basic necessity for humans to survive, but its also a way for people to express themselves. All cultures have their own foods, like how Turkiye has baklava, and pasta for Italy. Foods can make you feel blissful during sad times and it can even be brought for celebrations for important accomplishments.

I chose this example for this magazine because, it shows the viewer of the cover on what kinds of food there will be included in that specific magazine. It also expresses how the food can be represented for valentines day. Expressing the holiday with all the different recipes in this magazine.

Art and Photography

Photography is also a way to express yourself, with different art styles a photo can always resemble a deeper feeling. It helps people over come the idea of living in a small box and giving them the little push to think outside of it.

For this example I chose this magazine cover because, it gives a sense of mystery.. a certain sense of it being ominous. It expresses what the publishers are going for and what they want the readers to understand from it.

Nature

The world is a great geographical mystery. From the Grand Canyon to Mount Everest, the worlds many natural scapes are always a beautiful sight to behold. The many biomes expressing the nations different qualities and how they're ancestors came to be, from the different climates they inhabited for so many years.

For this example I chose this magazine cover because, it includes a picture of a harsh climate somewhere close to the mountains. And how it talks about helping the environment by finding a way to help plants flourish in harsh environments.
