Mise En Scene Post

Today in class we had to analyze a mis en scene of a setting in the movie grease. When I mean by identify I mean, understanding the characters choice clothes, how they look, what they're trying to portray to the viewer with how they act and dress.. etc. This post was on the more difficult side for me, causing me to make mistakes on identifying how they look instead of what they're trying to portray.

• Agatha All Along - 2024 - Episode 2,

  Circle Sewn With Fate Unlock Thy Hidden Gate

In this photo, the five woman dress in different styles that represent their personalities, like how the Korean lady (Alice) has red streaks in her hair, and a black jacket, I ultimately presume that she's probably the fierce, brave, and laid back type. They also seem shocked, or in a hurry as they open the gate that appeared below them, adding a sense of suspense and mystery, making us, the viewer wonder what might come next or even pull our attention even more into the show. From this scene I can tell that this is more theatrical than realistic from the blue light that emanates below them.

• ONE PIECE - 2023

In this photo, they are all wearing different styles of clothes that represent their backgrounds. For example, Sanji (The blonde one) is wearing a black suit, a look that represents maturity and class. It gives us an idea he comes from a place of high class, And from the way they're acting, it also gives us an idea that they're celebrating a victory, giving us, the viewer a sense of joy and excitement. From the would that they are standing on, we can come up with the idea that they are probably on the sea, the excitement they're sharing, they are looking forward to what might come next. Which heightens the feel of excitement and wonder for us the viewer. This scene also seems to be taken from a high shot completely fitting all the characters in one scene.

• Everything Everywhere All At One - 2022

In this photo, it seems the lady in the center is busy with the piles of papers that are spread across the table. From the TV behind her, we can tell that she owns some sort of business or store. From the shapes of the papers and how they all seem the same, I can come up with the idea that those might be tickets or bills that the Lady has yet to pay for the business she's running. Adding a sense of boredom and pity, from the stacks of bills on the table, it saddens the viewer from how she might be struggling to pay them. The dark colors of this shot also indicate the lonely feeling of the woman working alone.
